APPENDIX A
A.2.1.3 Calculations.
AN2 H4 × 100
%N2H 4 =
∑ Ai
AH2O ×100
% H 2O=
∑ Ai
ANH3 × 100
% NH 3 =
(For high purity grade only)
∑ Ai
where,
AN2 H4 = The measured area of the N2H4 peak multiplied by its signal attenuation factor.
AH2O = The measured area of the H2O peak multiplied by its signal attenuation factor.
ANH3 = The measured area of the NH3 peak multiplied by its signal attenuation factor.
∑ Ai = The sum of all measured peak areas times their signal attenuation factors.
NOTE: For monopropellant and high purity grades substitute ∑A i [100 / (100-%aniline)] for ∑Ai to
correct for the aniline content of the propellant.
Assumption: The thermal conductivities of all components in the sample are equal.
A.2.1.4 Equipment and Reagents. The following equipment and reagents shall apply as test
conditions of 4.3.2.
a. Equipment:
(1) Gas chromatograph equipped with a thermal conductivity detector (TCD).
(2) Hewlett Packard (HP) Chemstation or equivalent.
